One of the perks of not living in a major city or a living on the outskirts of Houston is the fact that I don’t have wrestle other people or wait in long lines for Target collaborations. Of course I’ll take less sprawling strip malls and driving any day, but today I’m focusing on the positive :)

Ta-da! Look what got from Liberty of London for Target. Most of the pieces are gifts, but the tiered platters is going to make it into our reception somehow. My favorite print is on the ceramic jar. I got a little print happy and had to put a few items back like a floral silk tie for BJ. We’ll just have to go back and let him decide (and maybe pick up one or two more things!)
*mmk BJ’s not so much of a fan. Only in moderation then.

I was already looking forward to see Beach House for Trang’s birthday, but now I’m even more excited because Confetti System will be designing the set for the band’s tour. Their use of  simple, everyday objects create ethereal sites, bring us back to the past, and make us long for a little bit more fun(sparkle) in our lives. I like how one writer described what CS created as “a moment that’s at once tangible and fleeting.”
A great behind the scenes piece by Sight Unseen here.

Ah. Monday. I’ve got too much on my mind. But I’m counting down the days until Friday so I can finally tackle my to-do list. I kind of wish we were going to NYC for Spring break , but it’ll be nice to eat lunch with BJ and check out some of the exhibits downtown.
BJ made a fancy pants dinner last night while we watched the Oscars- steak, salad, potatoes, and berries. Oh, and I can’t forget the wine. That definitely helped me destress! (Yay. So happy the Hurt Locker won)

I learned about Manimal after seeing Lena Corwin‘s photos and was hooked. Based in Brooklyn, I admire the way they combine colors, incorporate recycled scraps, and create everything by hand. I bought a scrap necklace, and it arrived yesterday. Even the packaging was so wel thought out and pretty. Although I’m trying to be extra conscious about my spending, it was definitely worth it.

Looking forward to spring break and Easter candy. The weather has been surprising nice in Houston, almost perfect. I hope it stays around for awhile.
I’m a bit on the fence about these egg shaped tootsie roll pops. I’m not sure if this is the best way to describe it, but they taste the way they look- a little opaque/foggy! hmm.

Heh. BJ and I have relied heavily on rock, paper, scissors and thumb wars to make decisions, settle arguments, and pass time. And we’re not the only ones.
This and other cool pieces are sold at old gold boutique.

Sigh. Reliable shoe count is down to 1. Before teaching, I was happy with all kinds of shoes, but now it’s hard to find a pair that could comfortably support me for an entire day. (No crocs please.) I’ve been switching between two pairs of Born shoes, but they are getting too ratty and the style has been discontinued. If there weren’t so hard on the eyes, they’d be the best brand, but a lot of Born footwear look like orthopedic grandma shoes.
I got these boots for cheap during J. Crew’s winter sale, and so far they’ve passed the test!
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the wedding, not much doing unfortunately. But really, I’ll get it together. Here are some ideas floating around my head. See, I have a plan.
